Everyone has a shot at qualifying for the Top 16 and we've organized the event so everyone should get pretty much the same number of runs (except the Best 8 will end up taking more competition runs!)

The competition is heating up. To see where you stand see: http://www.evergreendrift.com/2008_Standings.html

The series top five drivers from Competition #1 are:
  1. Victor Moore
  2. Rob Primozich
  3. Mike Phillips
  4. Ian Fournier
  5. Roland Gallagher

Rob will not be attending this event loosing the chance to earn valuable points and opening the door for some one else to take his spot. Will Victor be able to say on top? Will Team Canada return in full uniform?

If you are serious about becoming the Evergreen Drift 2008 champion you can't afford to miss this event!

Changes for this Event

Rules
  • If a driver commits unsafe behavior (i.e. speeding in the pits, drifting/aggressive driving outside of the official course) the driver will receive one warning and lose their next run. Upon the second infraction the driver will be disqualified from the event, not be allowed to run for the rest of the night, loose all competition points for the event, and will not receive a refund.

Competition
  • The course will have 2 judged clipping points. (Same course as competition #1 but the last clipping point will not be judged.)
  • Qualifying rules and format remain the same
  • Top 16 format and rules change in the works. Top 16 will be FD/D1 style head to head bracket elimination format. All drivers in the Tandem run group will be required to tandem. Drivers not qualified/equipped for tandem will compete in a 'psudo tandem' format where they take individual runs alternating with their competitor but are scored with the same head-to-head 10 point advantage system.
  • The points schedule for the top 16 finishers and qualification points that count towards the season championship will be posted.
  • Competition rules changes are still in the draft phase so stay tuned for updates. I'll announce when they are finished and published.

Come on out and invite your friends!!! The best way to improve the prizes and get more payout on the competitions is to bring more spectators so bring everyone you know.

See you there!

  • Check the Quick Links for full information about this event.

Changes for this event! All drivers and pit spectators must read!!!!

The Speedway staff and drift officials have come up with the following measures to speed up registration and tech to provide the maximum amount of seat time.

Goal: Complete registration and tech inspection of all drivers during the 4 pm hour and start drifting by 5pm!!!!

Here is how you can help in 5 easy steps:

  • Arrival - Arrive prior to 4pm. Upon arriving at the back gate form 3 lines. Drivers in the right 2 lines and pit pass spectators in the left 3rd lane. Be ready for registration to open at 4pm. Make sure to leave an open lane for county vehicles and officials to get in the back gate!
  • Registration - No Pit Passes will be sold until ALL drivers in line have been registered. If you are are not driving please wait to register until instructed so all drivers can be expedited.
  • Tech Inspection - After finishing registration all drivers will immediately proceed to the pit area, unload their car, then report to the designated tech inspection area ASAP.
  • Grid - After you pass tech inspection drive your car to the grid area and park in your designated grid spot as directed by the Grid official.
  • Drivers Meeting - Drivers meeting will be held at 4:50 sharp! The plan is to have the 1st car on the track at 5pm! If there are still drivers in tech and registration we'll be able to get them processed before their run group come up.
In order for this to work all drivers must come prepared and take initiative to get through registration, tech, and grid as quickly as possible. This means:
  • Come prepared and ready to hit the track. This means have your car ready to pass tech and your drift tires mounted so you only need to unload and report to tech.
  • Take initiative to get yourself and your car through registration and tech and into grid as quickly as you can. Every minute you delay could cost everyone run time!
If both the staff and the drivers work together we can maximize the track time for everyone! We can't do this without your help!!!

Special Tech Inspection Note

Cars without proper battery tie downs and positive terminal insulation will NOT be passed through tech. Everyone has been warned about this enough times. Duct tape does not count as proper battery terminal insulation. If you do not pass tech you must correct the issue and go to the back of the line to try again. It is not fair to everyone else who has a properly set up car to delay tech inspection. If you do not pass tech and miss your runs we cannot make any special accommodations. Come locked and loaded ready to rock.
